Congregation Beth Chaim, a Reform synagogue serving the communities of Princeton, West Windsor, Hightstown and surrounding areas, is set to welcome its newest assistant rabbi, Adena Blum, who will join the congregation July 1.
Rabbi Blum, a native of Lawrenceville, was recently ordained at Hebrew Union College, Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass., as well as master’s degrees in Hebrew Literature and Religious Education from HUC-JIR.
Most recently, Rabbi Blum served as a rabbinic intern in the communities of Beth Haverim Shir Shalom in Mahwah and Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick.
Rabbi Blum is set to replace Rabbi Carolyn J. Bricklin-Small, who has served Beth Chaim five years and is leaving at the end of June to become senior rabbi at Congregation Shir Tikvah in Winchester, Mass.
While at Beth Chaim, Rabbi Bricklin-Small has played an integral role in the education of children and adults as well as promoting community service through her leadership of Tikkun Olam.
Founded in 1971, Congregation Beth Chaim is a reform synagogue in Princeton Junction and is a member of the Union for Reform Judaism. Rabbi Eric Wisnia is celebrating his 36th year of service to the congregation.
