Paying your taxes in Plainsboro may have gotten easier. Beginning with the August, 2009, tax quarter, residents here will be able to use a direct ACH debit payment to pay their taxes.

The new method, which electronically debits a resident’s checking or savings account, will mean that residents will not have to trek to the municipal building’s tax office to make their payments four times a year, according to a press release from the township’s tax office.

Residents can log onto Plainsboro’s website — www.plainsboronj.com — and click on the link for the automatic debit authorization form. Residents can print out the form, fill it out, and send it to the tax collector’s office. Residents must return the form by July 1 to start electronic payments in time for the next tax quarter on August 4.

For more information, call the tax office at 609-799-0909, extensions 320 or 323.
