Plainsboro Police will be on the look-out for speeders through the township throughout July, a major summer travel month as part of the “Obey the Signs or Pay the Fines” initiative.

The initiative will run from Wednesday, July 1 through Friday, July 31, said a press release. The press release stated that 75 municipalities would be participating in the statewide effort aimed at helping “motorists remain safe on New Jersey roads during busy summer travel season.”

The press release stated that the police agencies throughout the state are receiving grants of $4,000 each to conduct the saturation patrols, which entail looking for motorists traveling in excess of the posted speed limit on local streets and county and state highways.

This is the first year the program will be conducted statewide.
