The owner of Local Greek, Tony Kanterakis, has now opened Small Bites, a new takeout restaurant, at 20 Nassau St. in Princeton next to The Red Onion Deli.
Kanterakis says Small Bites by Local Greek will serve authentic Greek cuisine. The menu will have many of the same dishes that Local Greek serves, but be prepared for customers who want quick meals on the go. The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Small Bites’ specialty offerings Menu will be available online at smallbitesbylocalgreek.com
While Local Greek is well-known for sit-down, BYOB and entrees, Small Bites will take a different approach. They will specialize in sweet and savory homemade pastry items like Baklava or Meat Kourou (Greek-style empanadas). Additionally, Small Bites will allow customers to “pick their stick” as they customize Greek kababs.
Small Bites will also feature sweets with morning coffee or after lunch and dinner. They have Greek-style donuts (loukoumades), baklava, and ice cream. Small Bites will also carry imported goods including Greek chocolates, tea, and snacks.
A ribbon-cutting event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11:30 a.m. The event will feature a free sampling of the menu items and a ceremonial ribbon cutting
with Princeton Mayor Lempert, the local council and restaurant owners.
The restaurant is currently hiring line cooks, waitstaff and bakery counter attendants. Those interested in employment can apply at the website.
