West WIndsor-Plainsboro school board seeks new member to fill vacancy

The West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District Board of Education is seeking candidates to fill a vacant Plainsboro seat following the resignation of Robin Zovich, effective May 27.

Interviews will be conducted by the board during its meeting on Tuesday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m. Each applicant will have three minutes to present their qualifications, motivations and priorities.

The board will ask questions, deliberate in executive session, then nominate and vote on a candidate in public session. The appointed member will take the oath of office and become a voting member of the board.

The vacancy will be filled within 65 days, and the appointee will serve through Dec. 31. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, able to read and write English, and residents of Plainsboro for at least one year prior to the appointment.

They must also be registered to vote in Plainsboro, have no conflicts of interest with the board, and cannot be disqualified as a voter or have a relevant criminal conviction. Additionally, they cannot be the mayor or a member of the Plainsboro governing body.

The selected candidate must undergo a criminal history background check and fingerprinting within 30 days of appointment.
