Princeton Girlchoir to hold auditions

Princeton Girlchoir is set to hold auditions for the 2014-2015 season.

Girls who will be entering grades third through 12th grade next fall are eligible to audition.

Concerts are planned throughout the east coast for the 2014-2015 season. The Performing Division choirs is set to embark on a summer concert tour, with the location to be announced. Recent tours have taken the choirs to Hawaii, Colorado, Austria, the Czech Republic and Trinidad.

In addition to performance opportunities, PGC offers music education to the choristers who participate in all six of their ensembles. Girls who have trained with PGC are regularly accepted into prestigious university music programs across the country.

Eligible candidates should have a strong desire to learn, a musical ear, and an eagerness to share music with others.

This year, candidates will be asked to sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat, along with some exercises that demonstrate their vocal range, and to complete a few musical challenges to help the music directors understand their current level of musical ability.

Auditions are scheduled for new choristers are scheduled for March 15, March 29 and June 14, at Princeton Day School, 650 Great Road, Princeton.

In addition, Princeton Girlchoir’s 25th Anniversary Concert is scheduled for June 1 at the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton. All six ensembles are set to perform.
