Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler announced that residents will have the opportunity to dispose of unneeded and expire prescription drugs during the national Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on September 27.

Residents can dispose of unused and expired prescription medicines by bringing them to the parking lot in front of the Mercer County Administration Building at 640 South Broad Street in Trenton, between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The safe-disposal program helps keep prescription drugs from falling into the hands of those who might make them available for abuse and prevents them from being flushed into the water supply or thrown into the trash and easily found.
