County clerk to lead course on being a notary

Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello is set to host two educational seminars with Jennie Stormes of the New Jersey Academy for Notaries. The events are open to all notary publics and those interested in becoming a notary public.

The courses will both take place Mercer County Connection Satellite Office at 957 Highway 33 in Hamilton.

The first course is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 24 and the second course is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 19.

The seminar will cover steps for a property notarization, how to complete a Notary Journal, how to examine identification, simple explanations of New Jersey Notary Laws, and avoiding serious problems by learning how to perform notarizations without errors.

The course fee is $15. To register contact the Mercer County Clerk’s office at (609) 989-6820.
