Janssen Pharmaceuticals, headquartered in Titusville, recently awarded a grant to support Mercer County Community College’s downtown Trenton James Kearny Campus (JKC) health training programs.

The $16,680 grant was used to purchase 24 new state-of-the-art microscopes that will provide hands-on experience for more than 200 students.

The replaced microscopes will be moved to MCCC’s West Windsor Campus, where they will be used by non-science majors fulfilling general education requirements.

A portion of the grant was also used to purchase storage cabinets used by students enrolled in nursing, radiography, medical technology, exercise science, and physical therapy assistant programs.

“We are grateful to Janssen Pharmaceutical Research Foundation for their generosity and commitment to providing educational opportunities for the residents of Trenton,” said MCCC President Dr. Jianping Wang. “We are training the next generation of healthcare professionals in an environment that mirrors what they will experience in the workforce. This is indeed an investment in the future.”
