Robbinsville High School is gearing up for its 2025 spring musical, an adaptation of the 1998 Adam Sandler film The Wedding Singer.

The play, set against a bright neon 1980s backdrop, is a romantic comedy centering around a wedding singer who, after being left at the altar, falls for a waitress who is also engaged.

The musical will be performed April 4 and 5 at 7 p.m. as well as April 6 at 3 p.m at the high school, 155 Robbinsville Edinburg Rd. The play is self-funded, with profits from ticket sales and advertisements making the performance possible.

There are nearly 100 students and faculty involved in this year’s production in total. It is helmed by tenth-year RHS musical director Brian Williams, who lauded the “joyous” feel of the musical.

“The students have been rehearsing six days a week since January, and every time they come together the energy is just fantastic,” Williams said. “The show is really sweet and uplifting with plenty of big characters, and the performers are doing a fantastic job bringing those characters to life.”

“It’s a simple story told in a really fun way,” he added.

Williams urges parents and community members to buy tickets in advance online to reserve their selected seat, save $5 on entry compared to buying at the door and support the hard work of everyone involved in the musical. The play will run approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Tickets are on sale here.

Attendees are encouraged to park under the solar panels at the high school on performance days.
