An art exhibition titled Sky Gazing is set to open Feb. 25.
Sky Gazing runs until May 2 with an artist reception March 8 at D&R Greenway Land Trust, One Preservation Place,Princeton.
The exhibition includes work by Deb Brockway, Merrillee Drakulich, Lora Durr, Donna Gratkowski, Ann Guidera-Matey, Donna Levinstone, Charles McVicker, Lucy McVicker, Paul Mordetsky, Stefanie Silverman, Neil Thompson and Mary Waltham.
The artists represent the sky in different states like sunrise, sunset and stormy weather.
Sky Gazing curator Diana Moore said the works in the show are meant to evoke deeper understanding of our place in the universe.
Exhibitions may be seen on business hours of business days but Moore said patrons should call first to ensure that galleries are open.
D&R Greenway is set to host two lectures that are linked to the exhibition.
On March 21, author, historian, canoe-designer and former fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study George Dyson will be the inaugural speaker at the first Science Forum on Strategic Innovations in Land Preservation and Stewardship.
His lecture is titled Princeton’s Christopher Robin: Oswald Veblen and the Six-Hundred Acre Woods. Dyson is set to discuss Velban’s reassembling lands set aside by William Penn, which became home to the institute.
On April 4, visiting professor at Princeton University’s Environmental Institute, Ken Hiltner, is set to give a lecture titled The Role of the Past in our Environmental Future. He will speak about the relationship that human beings have with nature, starting with some of the earliest stories in western literature.
