Opera lecture set for Feb. 18

A lecture on opera is set for Feb. 18.

The lecture is part of the Women’s College Club of Princeton meeting 1 p.m. at All Saint’s Church’s parish hall, 16 All Saints’ Road, Princeton.

Italian opera scholar and concert pianist, Alan Mallach, will present How Pietro Mascagni and Cavalleria Rusticana Reinvented Italian Opera.

Mallach wrote “Pietro Mascagni and His Operas” and “The Autumn of Italian Opera: From Verismo to Modernism 1890-1915.” He is a Yale graduate and a fellow of the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C.

Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
