Meals on Wheels of Mercer County will be participating in the 16th annual March for Meals — a month-long, community-by-community celebration of Meal on Wheels and the seniors who rely on the service to remain independent at home.

Meals on Wheels of Mercer County’s celebration will include various activities held throughout March, including the annual Dine Out to Stamp Out Senior Hunger event held at restaurants all over the county as well as Champions Week, where well-known dignitaries help deliver meals.

Sasa Olessi Montaño, CEO of Meals on Wheels of Mercer County, said the organization served approximately 80,000 meals to more than 500 homebound county residents last year.

“Together, we can keep seniors living independently, healthier at home and feeling

more connected to their community as they age,” she said.

This year, Meals on Wheels of Mercer County has partnered with the local restaurants to raise money to benefit the meals provided to homebound residents. Dine at the following restaurants dates listed below and 10 percent of the bill will be donated to Meals on Wheels of Mercer County.
