The Character Education Partnership named Lawrence Township Public Schools a 2014 National District of Character for its use of character development to drive a positive impact on academics and student behavior throughout the district.

The district will hold this distinction for a period of five years.

LTPS was submitted for consideration to this designation after it was named a 2014 New Jersey District of Character in March.

Currently, all seven schools in the district are New Jersey Schools of character and Lawrenceville Elementary and Eldridge Park Elementary are both National Schools of Character.
