Lawrence Lexus prides itself on customer service that is anything but average.

“That’s really what we’re all about,” said general manager and vice president Brian Bennett, the dealership’s general manager and vice president. Bennet said the dealership’s commitment can be seen in the number of options available to customers and the individualized attention each person receives.

When customers bring their cars in for servicing they are greeted by valets who know the reason for each visit and whether the customer has a preferred assistant service manager, Bennett said.

Staff members personally escort customers to their courtesy cars and if it’s more convenient for the customers, the dealership will travel to their homes or offices to pick up cars for servicing. Each car is washed before returned.

Customers also have the option of waiting for their vehicles in the lounge, which is complete with food and beverages, television and Internet access. “It’s like a high-end hotel experience when you come in for service,” Bennett said.

Bennett, who drives a Lexus GX 470, said that Lexus, a division of Toyota, began with the vision of creating a Japanese luxury car. Bennett has been with Lexus since the beginning. He was a fleet manager at Haldeman Ford, when the dealership applied for the Lexus franchise upon the brand’s launch in 1989. The dealership was initially located in the Mercer Mall, but has been at its current location on U.S. 1 North since June 2001.

Bennett said the hybrids are a popular choice at the dealership and that demand for the vehicles rises when gas prices climb. Current and prospective customers can test drive vehicles at the company’s “Taste of Lexus” events. The events also include gourmet food.

Lawrence Lexus’s commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed. Bennett said it has won a president’s award, the “Elite of Lexus” in 15 out of 18 years. Dealerships are judged on customer satisfaction in eight different categories.

Bennett is equally proud of the dealership’s commitment to the community. He serves on the Board of Trustees for St. Francis Medical Center, and the Board of Directors for both Mercer County Community College and the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce.

On May 21, 2008, Lawrence Lexus hosted an event called “Community Service and the Success of Philanthropy.” Members of the boards of directors from hospitals, the community college and other nonprofit organizations were invited.

Lawrence Lexus is located at 2630 Brunswick Pike on U.S. Highway 1 North. For more information, call (800) 878-7960 or go online to lawrencelexus.com.
