Commercial real estate firm JLL announced in late January that global home furnishings retailer Crate & Barrel Outlet has leased a new 23,400-square-foot store space at Mercer on One, the recently rebranded Mercer Mall outdoor shopping center located at 3357 Brunswick Pike in Lawrence Township.

Part of Germany’s Otto Group, Crate & Barrel operates more than 100 stores and franchise partners in nine countries. The new Lawrenceville store will be one of 15 outlets it operates in North America.

Marci Carl, a senior director of real estate for Crate & Barrel, said: “Crate & Barrel Outlets are strategically located in high traffic, upscale centers to meet our customers where they shop. Mercer on One is ideally positioned to support our commitment to bringing value, purpose and quality to the shopping experience.”

JLL vice president Alana Friedman and managing director David Townes brokered the lease on behalf of Crate & Barrel Outlets. Jeff Fischer, vice president, regional leasing, for Federal Realty Investment Trust, represented ownership in the lease transaction.

Friedman noted that the retailer has converted a temporary short-term lease within the mall into a new, five-year lease for 23,400 square feet that will be built out by the landlord. The space was previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond.

Earlier this year, Crate & Barrel Holdings, Inc. (CBH) unveiled “Bring it Home,” a multi-year investment plan to pave the future for continued growth across the organization centered on an enhanced consumer experience. Through significant investments in talent, technology and infrastructure, CBH is committed to delivering a seamless, premium and personalized customer experience through a digital-first operating model and modern technology foundation.

Originally built in 1975, Mercer on One is a 551,000-square-foot destination shopping center featuring over 2,300 parking spaces, more than 50 stores and restaurants, and a Tesla sales and service center. Owned by Federal Realty Investment Trust, the property is centrally located four miles south of Princeton and 25 miles north of Philadelphia. Ownership recently completed a major rebranding of the property with new signage and façade modifications.

Located in an active retail market with outstanding accessibility and visibility from U.S. 1 and I-295, Mercer on One draws shoppers from well beyond the immediate trade area within Mercer County. The average household income within a three-mile radius is $193,574.
