Notre Dame High School graduate Ciarán Sheehan starred in the title role of Broadway’s longest running musical, The Phantom of the Opera, and he’ll return to his old neighborhood this month.

On Oct.12, 2017, Sheehan will perform Broadway favorites and Irish classics at Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County’s gala at the Stone Terrace in Hamilton. This annual event supports services for homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. Tickets, which include dinner and entertainment, are $65 per person. Sheehan, a Dublin-born tenor, sang in a rock band while he was a student at Notre Dame. He headed to New York to study acting and got a break when he came under the mentorship of Broadway director Hal Prince.

He made his Broadway debut in the original production of Les Miserables, playing Babet and Marius. Prince cast Sheehan in The Phantom of the Opera, first as Raoul, then as the Phantom. Sheehan has worked with the Irish Repertory Theatre Company. More recently, he taught at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies.
