Sapperstein to present Whale Boat Privateers at Washington Crossing

Revolutionary War Whale Boat Privateer William Mariner will be performed by Historian Stan Sapperstein on September 19, 2015. The event will be held at the Visitor Center Museum at Washington Crossing State Park at 2 p.m.

Sapperstein dressed as William Mariner will tell the untold story of the Whale Boat Privateers during the American Revolution and their exploits right here in NJ on the Raritan Bay. The presentation will include how the whale boats were used, tactics and weapons of the day.

The Visitor Center Museum’s auditorium can hold approximately 60 people on a first come basis. The Event is Free.

The Visitor Center Museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring The Swan Historical Foundation’s Collection of 500 plus Colonial and Revolutionary War artifacts. For more information call (609) 737-0623.
