Open Air Theatre to present children’s Halloween musical

Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre’s 2013 season is set to close with a Halloween inspired production of the musical Captain Louie.

Based on the book The Trip by Ezra Jack Keats, Captain Louie spins the tale of young Louie, the new kid in town who feels lonely and without friends in his new neighborhood. Looking for something to cheer himself up on Halloween night, Louie returns to his old neighborhood friends in an imaginary journey on the wings of his favorite toy, his beloved little red plane.

Music and lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz, known for Godspell, Pippin and Wicked.

The show features a cast of young performers between the ages of eight and 16.

In lead roles are Julianna Zannikos of Doylestown, Pa., Wyatt Kim of Yardley, Pa., Kate Fahey of Richboro, Pa., Daniel Proulx of Upper Makefield, Pa., Abby Bastian of Morrisville, Pa., Tyler Brennan of New Hope, Pa. and Rachel Mahar of Doylestown, Pa.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4-6 and Oct 11-13 at Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre located inside Washington Crossing State Park, Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under.
