Hopewell Township Ag Committee to host Farm Forum

The Hopewell Township Agricultural Advisory Committee invites landowners and farmers to a Farm Forum on Farmland Assessment on April 1 at 7 p.m. in Hopewell Township Municipal building.

The New Jersey Legislature passed Bill S589/A3090 which increases the minimum income requirement for farmland assessment. Hopewell Township’s tax assessor, Deborah Fox, will explain the new Farmland Assessment requirements and answer questions from the audience.

The Agricultural Committee has also invited two speakers to help people who need to help in increasing the productivity of their land.

Dave Kimmel, an agricultural resources specialist with the State Agricultural Development Committee will talk the State’s Farm Link program between farmers looking for land and landowners looking for farmers and explain a extensive report on Farm Leasing guidelines.

Erica Evans of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey will talk about their Beginning Farmer and Farm Incubator program.

The Hopewell Township Municipal building is located at 201 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville.
