Hamilton resident Larry Rosenthal, who served in the Army National Guard, lights thousands of tattered or soiled American flags that were collected for Mercer County’s annual flag decommissioning ceremony on June 6, 2013 at Veterans Park in Hamilton. The Mercer County Office of Veteran Services partnered with local veterans from American Legion Post 31 and the Hamilton Township Patriotic Committee to host the decommissioning, also known as flag retirement.
