St. Gregory’s team wins second at national History Bowl

Saint Gregory the Great Academy students won second place at the third annual National Middle School History Bowl in Washington, DC.

The team, comprising nine seventh and eighth grader, competed against 25 teams from across the United States and outside the country on May 18 and 19. They placed 40 points behind Stroller Middle School from Portland, Ore.

St. Gregory’s teacher Elizabeth Mills served as the team coach. She led the group to a first place finish at the Central New Jersey Middle School History Bowl competition at Lawrence Middle School in March . The event featured 10 area middle schools from the region.
