St. Gregory the Great Academy wins most awards at Mercer County Science Fair

Saint Gregory the Great Academy earned top recognition as the school with most awards for both the Elementary and Junior divisions in the Mercer County Science and Engineering Fair on March 19 at Rider University.

Twenty-four students received top honors for 26 categories including three Superior Achievement Awards, two Rider University Awards, the Earl Rommel Award and the Navy & Marine Corp Award.

In the Junior Division’s biological science category both Gene Mongon and Nicolas Stewart won Superior Achievement awards. Stewart also one the Rider University award.

Emma Bennett won the Outstanding Achievement award.

John Boles and Gianna Madaio won Meritorious awards.

Nicole Russo, Jayson Morelli, Julia Rauscher, Flannery O’Donnell and Amanda Gill earned Honorable Mentions.

In the Junior Division’s physical science category, Nicholas Posivak won the Superior Achievement and Rider University awards.

Austin Nance received an Honorable Mention and Navy and Marine Corp award, Michael DiStefano won Outstanding Achievement and Michael Gomez won a Meritorious award.

In the Elementary Division Jack Weigartner won Outstanding Achievement and James Ehring won the Earl Rommel award.

Joshua Klingele, Matthew Lambert, Jack Micallef, Zachary Posivak and Patrick Cettina, Elementary won the Meritorious award and Patrick Mongon recieved an Honorable Mention.
