Elaine and Mike Russo are saying farewell to Ivy Tavern after many years as owners of the much loved bar and music venue on South Broad Street in Hamilton.

The Russos have sold the tavern after operating it for many years, and are set to celebrate on Sunday, Sept. 29 with a noon-to-midnight fiesta that will feature live music, cash bar, food and giveaways.

New owners are expected to take over in October.

Posting in the Ivy Tavern Facebook group, Elaine Russo wrote: “A toast to new beginnings for the Ivy Tavern. We appreciate all your patronage throughout the years. It’s been a great run and now it’s time for us to move on in our journey in life.”

Nine bands are scheduled to perform during the day: Slow Motion at 1 p.m., 1969 Band at 2 p.m., Unleashed at 3 p.m., HSB at 4 p.m., Tour deForce at 5 p.m., Union at 6 p.m., Ernie White Band at 7 p.m., Southside Wanderers at 8 p.m., and Audio Pilot at 9 and 10 p.m.
