Brothers Ristorante and Pizza isn’t just home to one set of brothers in the form of owners Antimo and Gennaro Carannante, but a whole clan of younger Carannantes, which includes sets of brothers, sisters and cousins.

The restaurant is turning 36, but still has some of the same features it began with: traditional recipes for wholesome Italian food and an appreciation of family bonds. “The only thing we never changed is the recipe of our food,” Gennaro said. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It works for us, it works very well.”

To celebrate the restaurant will offer a special 36 percent off discount for any item purchased between noon and 10 p.m. on March 15.

For the past 36 years, Gennaro has begun his mornings each day by making fresh dough and sauce to be used in their pizzas. He hasn’t gotten tired of it yet.

“The more you succeed, you feel younger,” Gennaro said. It could also be the energy from having so many young faces in the kitchen. Today, Antimo and Gennaro’s grown children can often be seen helping out around the restaurant, all with the same set of smiles and camaraderie that can only be seen in a close knit family.

Brothers Pizza is located at 871 Highway 33. Open from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday and noon to midnight on Sunday, it can be reached at (609) 586-2707.
