Hamilton resident named Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice trustee

A Hamilton Township resident was named to the Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice board of trustees.

Christine A. Stearns, vice president-health and legal affairs for the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, has been elected to serve on the board of trustees.

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice is the regional leader for hospice and palliative care, grief support and counseling, end-of-life education, research and advocacy. The nonprofit organization serves people in Mercer, Camden, Burlington, Gloucester and Atlantic counties who are coping with serious illness or grief.

Stearns is a policy expert on healthcare and legal issues and was recently named by NJBIZ as one of the 50 Most Powerful People in Health Care in New Jersey.

Additionally, Stearns is an attorney with extensive political and legislative experience who has served in a variety of advisory and staff capacities for numerous county, legislative and statewide campaigns.

A graduate of Douglass College, Stearns received her juris doctorate from Rutgers School of Law-Camden, and a master’s degree in public policy from the Eagleton Institute of Politics. She is a member of the bar in New Jersey.
