Hamilton Cardiology Associates, a 12-doctor cardiology practice with locations in Hamilton and Princeton, plans to raise $5,000 for the American Heart Association.

Along with participating AHA’s Heart Walk, scheduled for Sept. 7 at Mercer County Park, the practice is selling items to patients and staff to meet their goal.

HCA developed t-shirts to sell to staff and patients, as well as backpacks with their logo, stress balls and paper hearts, which will be displayed throughout the practice with donors’ names.

The practice is also sponsoring a water station at the event where staff will be handing out water to those walking the track throughout the day.

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the nation’s number one killer, claiming more than 813,804 American lives a year.
