Burger Mania to return Sept. 7

Food trucks, restaurants and caterers are set to go head to head at the fifth annual Mercer County Burger Mania.

Burger connoisseurs can taste specially priced sliders and full size burgers at the event scheduled for 3 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 7 at the Hibernian Club, 2419 Kuser Road, Hamilton Square.

Participating burger crafters include Zinna’s of Cranbury, Hooters of Lawrenceville and Charlie Browns of East Windsor. Burger Mania plans to update its Facebook page with more competitors.

Judges are set to choose the Best Burger, which has $1,000 in gifts and prizes. The public will have a chance to pick the popular vote winner, which has $500 in gifts and prizes.

Judging this year’s event is Frank Beowitz and Doug Fee of Mercer County Culinary Institute, private chef Cristin Antun, foodie Mark Jahnke and last year’s winner, Elements chef Chris Peterson.

In addition to the competition, the event features live music, a beer garden, inflatable rides for the kids, vendors and crafters.
