The 5th annual Pizzeria Showdown contest, hosted by Saint Raphael Holy Angels Parish, returns to Hamilton Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Local restaurants have been invited to gather at the church — 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton — from 5:30 to 8 p.m. to show off their most popular pizza and offer tastings to guests.

Baked goods and non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided, and guests can bring their own bottle of wine.

Attendees will vote for the best tasting pizza and restaurant. The two top restaurants will be named the Grand Pizza Champion and the Pizzaiolo (Pizza Chef).

Last year’s Pizzeria Showdown attracted approximately 300 people. The two top honors were Amari’s Pizzeria Restaurant in Hamilton and Villa Mannino Ristorante & Pizzeria in Bordentown.

The event costs $13 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 to 11, and free for children five and under. All proceeds will go to the annual alumni association student awards fund established to award future alumni of the Saint Raphael School graduating class.

Restaurant vendors can call (609) 223-0296 or email alumni.archive@srsnj.org for additional information.
