Mayor Jeff Martin on July 1 joined residents and community members to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of 21 Club Barber Shop in the Dover Park Shopping Center in Hamilton.

Owned and operated by father-and-son team Semaj and Saurel Dastinot, who celebrated the opening of their long-envisioned business surrounded by family, friends, and supporters.

Opening 21 Club is more than a business venture for the Dastinots; it’s the realization of a dream rooted in community, culture, and connection.

They wanted to build a space where people feel seen, heard, and valued. A place where every conversation matters, every style has a story, and every person walks out feeling better than when they came in.

The Dastinots chose Hamilton as the home for their venture due to its diverse and energetic community.

“Hamilton was the perfect place to bring this vision to life. We saw a vibrant community that deserved a barbershop as bold and authentic as its people. We only hope to continue to make a change in positive ways,” said Semaj Dastinot.

The shop features a talented and friendly team, including Rodlene Michel-Dastinot, Uman Arana, and Shakura Murray, who bring skill and heart to the craft. You can see samples of their work by visiting @21ClubBarbershop on Instagram and TikTok.

21 Club Barber Shop is now open for both walk-ins and appointments on Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The barber shop is closed on Mondays.
