Trenton Area Soup Kitchen is set to host KidsFest in April.

KidsFest is an outgrowth of TASK’s successful 30th anniversary celebration held at the Trenton War Memorial last April. It is a mini-version of last year’s Souperfest with entertainment and activities for children ages 13 and under.

The event features free food, music, dance, arts and crafts, games, prizes, magic, balloons, clowns and a petting zoo.

Scheduled performers include the Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart Clowning Academy, Jay and the Magicians, the Rutgers Yo-Yo Dojo Team, and the Garvey School of Trenton.

For families without transportation, TASK is set to provide a shuttle service to KidsFest from various sites in Trenton including the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen at 721/2 Escher St., in front of the War Memorial in Trenton, in the rear of the Shiloh Baptist Church at 340 Calhoun St., and at Union Industrial Home for Children located at 864 Bellevue Ave.

KidsFest is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Villa Victoria Academy, 376 West Upper Ferry Road, Ewing.

Admission is free to children accompanied by a parent.
