St. Gregory’s team wins first at Scholastic Olympics

St. Gregory the Great Scholastic Olympics team. Saint Gregory the Great Academy earned top honors in the 32nd annual Scholastic Olympics hosted by Trenton Catholic Academy on Nov. 14.

Eight area Catholic elementary schools took part in the competition, which tests students’ knowledge in art, English, history, mathematics, religion, science, and spelling.

St. Gregory’s team, comprising 14 eighth grade students, placed first overall.

Five students earned individual awards. Justin Fink and Victoria Posivak of Hamilton won first and second place in math, respectively. Claire Lee of Robbinsville won first place for art. Other second place winners were Alex Stanton of Hamilton for spelling and Jack Boles of Hamilton for history.
