Jersey College CEO Greg Karr, Ewing campus director Thomas Matese, program chair Doreen Rose-Park, Mayor Bert Steinmann and campus coordinators Christopher Rodriguez and Jerome Wright cut the ribbon at the renovated facility on Sept. 12, 2013.

The Center for Allied Health & Nursing Education in Ewing recently changed its name and renovated its facility.

Now called Jersey College, the institution tripled the size of its Ewing facility to 30,000 square feet. Jersey College also relocated its main campus from Hackensack to a 40,000-square-foot building in Teterboro in the spring.

The name change coincides with the institution’s approval to become a college in the state.

Jersey College’s school of nursing offers two programs, practical and professional. Students in both programs have the opportunity to become Licensed Practical Nurses, and then Registered Nurses.

“Jersey College’s nursing programs combine clinical learning with traditional classroom academics to help students acquire the necessary competencies to succeed as professionals in the healthcare industry,” Elizabeth Villanueva, MSN, RN, dean of nursing at the Ewing campus, said in a statement. “The expansion and enhancement of our campuses and upgrades to our facilities will help promote learning and student success by enriching educational opportunities.”

The Ewing and Teterboro campuses feature administrative offices, simulation centers equipped with high-fidelity mannequins, modern classrooms and expanded student service areas.

Jersey College was founded in 2003 in Hackensack. Along with its New Jersey facilities, the college has three locations in Florida.
