EASEL Animal Rescue League has received a $7,500 grant from Petco Love, a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting animal welfare organizations across the country.

The funding will help advance EASEL’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets throughout Mercer County and beyond.

“We are honored and deeply grateful for Petco Love’s ongoing support,” said Karen Azarchi, president of the EASEL Board of Directors. “This investment affirms the lifesaving work we do every day—rescuing, healing, and finding homes for pets in need. Together, we are changing lives.”

The grant is part of a larger $12 million investment Petco Love recently announced to support animal rescue organizations nationwide. The funding comes at a crucial time as shelters across the country face increased intakes and slower adoption rates.

Founded in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $410 million in adoption programs and other lifesaving initiatives. Its partnership with EASEL has previously supported essential services such as medical care, shelter operations, public education and community outreach.

EASEL is also a proud local partner of Petco Love Lost, a free national database that uses facial recognition and photo-matching technology to help reunite lost pets with their families.

This latest grant will provide immediate support to EASEL’s programs at a time when resources are stretched and the need is growing.

EASEL (Ewing Animal Shelter Extension League) is a nonprofit organization based in Ewing.

It operates a no-kill shelter and offers services including adoptions, fostering, Trap-Neuter-Return, humane education, and pet owner support. The organization is also working toward building a new adoption center to expand its reach and impact.
