Food drive to support Mercer Community Services food pantry

Christine Tentilucci of PEAC Health and Fitness and Barbara Clancey of Catholic Charities fill a car with food donated to a past Catholic Charities Summer Food Drive. PEAC Health and Fitness is set to collect non-perishable food items to support Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, throughout July. Donations toward this summer hunger relief program go to the Mercer Community Services food pantry, which is part of Catholic Charities’ hunger and homelessness prevention program. The items they need most are canned meats and vegetables, soup, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, rice, pasta, pancake mixes and syrup, pudding, jello and juice boxes. Catholic Charities programs are designed to support the basic needs of the people in the community. The food pantry, located in Trenton, is available to any Mercer County resident in need of food. According Community Affairs Manager at Catholic Charities Lisa Brogan, last year the food pantry served 7,223 people, including 2,228 children. More information is online at peachealthfitness.com.
