About 12 years ago Rafael Mayorga decided to purchase King’s Pizzarama, a local pizza place located at the bend on Ewingville Road.

After over a decade in the local pizza business, Mayorga wanted to be his own boss. “I was tired of working for someone else,” he said.

A couple of years later, he convinced his brother, Aldo, also working in local pizza places, to go into business with him. “We like Ewing. All the people here are so nice,” Aldo said. “We never take off. We like to work for the customers.” Though located behind The College of New Jersey, the brothers love the local residents.

Some 25 years ago, the brothers emigrated from Guatemala, and have been in the pizza business ever since a friend helped them get started.

The brothers have developed their own technique for making pizza, a technique that remains secret.

King’s Pizzarama features ample parking. Their dining room only has five red and white checked table-clothed tables, seating up to four diners each. On nice days, dining stretches to their outdoor patio. During a recent lunchtime visit, their fax machine was humming with orders. Aldo explained this was due to their recent connection with GrubHub.com. Orders can be faxed to (609) 882-5180.

Inside the pizzeria there are up to 15 choices of pizzas for slices ranging from traditional plain to gourmet to pan pizzas.

They offer a nice variety of choices for a quick bite to eat. Pizzas can be ordered as whole pies, including their gourmet focaccia pizza, and chicken bacon pizza.

In addition to pizzas, King’s Pizzarama also makes wraps, traditional subs, hoagies, stromboli, calzones, pastas, and classic and gourmet Italian dinners. Appetizers, salads, and burgers round out their menu.

King’s Pizzarama can cater your next event with party trays of traditional Italian fare for 10 to 20 people. With at least 24 hours’ notice, the brothers can make party 3-foot and 6-foot subs.

Delivery is available all day within Ewing and parts of Lawrence with a minimum order of $10.

Aldo and Rafael live in Hamilton with their families. They are each married. Aldo has three children, Rafael has two.
