Bordentown Elks attend district Flag Day celebration

Members of the Bordentown Elks 2085 lodge attended the Southwest District’s Annual Flag Day Ceremony at the Edgewater Park lodge June 15.

District Americanism Chairperson Dave Matyas of Marlton Lodge 2514 led the ceremony. As the history of our flag was presented, by Jack Fistori, also from Marlton. Edgewater Park Boy Scouts Troop 24 members carried in each flag while Taps was played by two buglers

Earlier that month, the Elks attended the NJ Elks’ Convention in Wildw0od June 6 through 9.

During the convention, awards were presented for outstanding Veteran’s Committee work.

Chairperson of Bordentown’s veteran committee Jim Sharpe was awarded the Male Veteran Volunteer of the year.
