Westminster Choir College to present summer concerts

Westminster Choir College’s Summer Concert Series features community events, recitals and master classes. Events are free and open to the public.

The community in encouraged to join in the singing with a Summer Sing-In scheduled for 7:30 p.m. June 24 at Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College. Anthony Maglione is set to conduct Beethoven Mass in C Major. Audience members can bring their own score or borrow one to sing along with.

Participants of the CoOPERAtive Program, a three-week opera training program, are scheduled to present Operatic Arias Concerts 7:30 p.m. July 2 and 6 in Bristol Chapel. The performances will feature arias from familiar and not-so-well-known operas.

Also part of the CoOPERAtive program, conductor Pierre Vallet is set to present a master class on directing singers toward their operatic potential 7:30 p.m. July 3 at Princeton High School. A committed educator, Pierre Vallet is a sought-after lecturer and guest teacher at the world’s premier training institutions.

Young artists of the CoOPERAtive Program are scheduled to perform in an intimate Art Song Recital, featuring repertoire from a variety of composers, 7:30 p.m. July 5 in Bristol Chapel. Each piece was hand chosen specifically for the singers to display the best qualities of their voices.
