Priya Sreedhar is a Guest Relations Ambassador at UMCP, currently seeking volunteers to help with the new Guest Relations Program.

University Medical Center of Princeton (UMCP) is looking for adult volunteers who can donate at least three hours per week greeting and helping to direct patients and visitors arriving at the hospital.

The volunteers are needed to supplement the new Guest Relations Program at UMCP, which is designed to help promote a better experience for all guests by providing any information or assistance they need to navigate the hospital campus.

Three types of positions are available, all requiring great people skills and a keen sense of direction:

Guest Relations Ambassadors—volunteers stationed in the hospital atrium for three-hour shifts between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily to help direct or escort visitors to destinations in the hospital or the Medical Arts Pavilion. This position requires a significant amount of walking and standing during a three-hour shift. The ambassador position represents the greatest need for new volunteers. The ambassadors wear a distinctive uniform—navy blue blazers—to make them easily recognizable to patients and visitors.

Concierge Desk Associates—volunteers who staff the Concierge Desk in the hospital atrium for three-hour shifts between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. weekdays. In this category, volunteer shifts are available at various days and times but the greatest need is on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Applicants should have problem-solving skills and good computer literacy.

Medical Arts Pavilion Desk Associates—volunteers at the Information Desk in the lobby of the Medical Arts Pavilion building, who provide needed information, services or directions to visitors and patients. Computer literacy is essential. Volunteers are needed for a limited number of shifts during weekdays in the morning and early afternoon.
