The American Pakistani Forum of Mercer County (APF) hosted a Tsunami Relief Fundraising Dinner at Pierre Restaurant, South Brunswick. Organizers from West Windsor and Plainsboro included Mona Manzar, Shaheen Syed, Saleem Manzar, Tehmina and Shahrukh Jovinda, and Hassan Syed.

The speakers included Senator Peter Inverso, assembly members Bill Baroni and Linda Greenstein, and West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh.

Keynote speaker was Dr. Parvaiz Malik from the Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA). A plastic surgeon, he presented his personal experiences and photographs of his visit to Indonesia.

AFP collected donations of close to $32,”000 for the relief efforts to help the tsunami victims in Indonesia. The funds have been distributed to Care USA, UNICEF, ICNA, and IMANA for use in the tsunami hit areas.
