Trenton YMCA to host 5k and 1-mile walk

YMCA of Trenton is set to host a 5K and one mile walk to support the Strong Kids Campaign.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 1 at the parking lot in front of 50 Riverview Plaza, adjacent to Arm & Hammer Park.

The walk is set to begins at 9 a.m. and the race at 9:30 a.m.

Registration is online at trentony5k.com. Registration completed before Sept. 14 receives a reduced rate of $25 for the run and $20 for the walk. From Sept. 15 to the day of the event, the rate is $30 for the run and $25 for the walk.

On-site registration is scheduled for 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.

Participants are set to receive t-shirts. Additionally, post-race activities include family activities, a bike rodeo and performances by the YMCA Dance Academy.

Proceeds are set to benefit after school programs for young children, teen leadership training programs, physical activity programs for children, and families in need of child care.

Founded in 1856, The Trenton YMCA is the Capital City’s oldest non-profit and serves families in Trenton, Ewing and Lawrence.
