High School South’s education theater group, Pirate Players, along with students from Grover Middle School, were featured on the television show “Classroom Close-Up, NJ” on Monday, April 17, and Saturday, April 22. The Pirate Players, advised by South teacher Don Gilpin, works with students at Grover on topics ranging from peer pressure to sexuality. South teacher is the advisor for Pirate Players.##M:[more]##

Community Middle School teacher Joanne Crain coordinated a “Math Madness Night” with McCaffrey’s at Southfield Shopping Center. Students from team 6C were involved with the parent-student program to promote mathematical skills in a real-life setting.

Students shopped throughout the store using a variety of learned mathematical skills including measurement, conversion, computation, sorting, statistics, and estimation. They completed workshops at six stations set up within the store.
