The 2017 Cadwalader Heights House Tour, “A Walk in the Park: New Jersey’s Olmsted Neighborhood,” is set for Saturday, September 16, noon to 5 p.m.

The tour showcases homes in the historic Trenton neighborhood conceived and designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of New York City’s Central Park. Houses range in size from cottage to castle and in style from Colonial Revival to Tudor Revival.

Once the home to the captains of Trenton’s industry, government, education, and fraternal organizations, the 110-year-old Cadwalader Heights neighborhood continues to be an important part of the city and reflects Olmsted’s design vision of fostering a strong sense of community.

The house tour is complemented by the current Trenton City Museum in Cadwalader Park exhibition, “Cadwalader Park: An Olmsted Vision,” and active plein air artists will be painting and drawing in the park and throughout the neighborhood.

Tickets are $20 per person in advance on the Cadwalader Heights Neighborhood Association website, www.cadwaladerheights.com, or can be purchased on the day of the tour for $25 per person at Ellarslie, the Trenton City Museum in Cadwalader Park.
