Leif Skodnick, a graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, Class of 1998, was named the executive director of communications and team services for the Mississippi Surge hockey team. He will broadcast all 56 of the team’s games on the B2 Network.

“It’s nice to have a familiar face and voice that the fans can identify with,” according to the press release. “Leif has made his mark in the history books as being the first voice of the Surge. With his added responsibilities and the new ideas that he brings to the table, hockey fans on the coast can look forward to outstanding broadcasts for the team’s inaugural season.”

Skodnick graduated from St. Lawrence University, Class of 2002, with a degree in Canadian studies and history. A West Windsor native, he has worked with the Buffalo Sabres, the Johnstown Chiefs, and the Mississippi Sea Wolves.
