Alan Cohen, a graduate of High School South, Class of 2001, releases his new CD, “Eat the Peace,” on Tuesday, November 3 (Election Day). A member of the Family Junction Band, Cohen, known as the Alan Cohen Experience, presents an eclectic selection of music and subject matter. “The album pays homage to the great sounds of Southern rock,” says Cohen. “Each song is about a different character or story.”

His videos, “Elephant” and “The Obama Groove,” have been viewed thousands of times on YouTube, and Cohen has been featured on CNN’s “The Week in Politics” and the Guardian. Seth Kroll, also Class of 2001, directs the videos. Cohen writes and records concept albums that explore historical and offbeat perspectives, to showcase the individual and combined talents of the orchestra members.
