Columbia University Professor of Sociology and author Shamus Khan visited Princeton Day School Jan. 23.

Khan, the author of Privilege: The Making of an Adolescent Elite at St. Paul’s School, spoke to the Upper School student body about the growing economic disparity in the United States, and how it compares to other industrialized nations in the world. He also addressed the ideas of mobility and privilege in our culture.

In the afternoon, Khan joined classes and continued the conversation with students.

English department chair Nicole Furlonge worked with Spanish teacher Liz Ransom to bring Khan to campus.
