State Senator Linda R. Greenstein, a Plainsboro resident, was named the “Legislator of the Year” by the New Jersey Jewish War Veterans at its annual legislative breakfast. Greenstein has recently introduced numerous bills in the Senate to provide employment opportunities for veterans and active-duty military spouses.

“Our military and veterans from one generation to the next have selflessly protected and served our country,” said Greenstein. “And as the men and women who fought to protect us in Iraq and Afghanistan begin to come home, we must continue to fulfill the commitments we made to our veterans. From issues such as employment to health care, I am proud to work with the New Jersey veterans community to advance legislation which honors them for their service.”

The national Jewish War Veterans provides a voice for Jewish war veterans on issues related to veterans’ benefits, foreign policy, and national security. The New Jersey department of the organization has 30 posts throughout the state and members who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
