High School South’s Science Olympiad team brought home the first place trophy from the recent Science Olympiad Regional Tournament held at Princeton University. The advisors are Sunila Sharma, Brendan Sharma, and Meenakshi Bhattacharya.##M:[more]##

The medal winners include: First place awards: Chemistry Lab for Sofia Izmailov and Sumona Bhattacharya; Circuit Lab for Warren Cai and Bohua Zhan; Designer Genes for Daphne Ezer and Sofia Izmailov; Fermi Questions for Bohua Zahn and Ying-Ying Tran; Remote Sensing for Nikhil Jha and Lily Yu; and Rocks and Minerals for Tiffany Huang and Manu Venkateswaran.

Second place awards: Experimental Design for Bohua Zhan, Neeli Mishra, and Lily Yu; Physics for Warren Cai and Ying-Ying Tran; Scrambler for Warren Cai and David Ku; and Protein Modeling for Abi Ganesh, Will Zhuang, and Paul Kim.

Fourth place awards included Disease Detectives for Daphne Ezer and Sofia Izmailov; and Oceanography for Warren Cai and Piyush Poddar. Fifth place awards for Boomilever went to Ronak Gandhi and Manu Menkateswaran; and Write It Do It for Piyush Poddar and Manu Venkateswaren; and eighth place for Ecology for David Ku and Sumona Bhattacharya.
