Roebling Lofts in Trenton was recently named the recipient of two awards highlighting current practices and historic preservations.

NJ Future selected Roebling Lofts to receive a 2018 Smart Growth Award. The Trenton-based nonprofit organization said its selection reflected the completion of HHG Developers’ first phase to repurpose the historic Roebling buildings into a mixed-use project that will include housing, retail space, offices, open space, and structured parking.

The NJ Historic Preservation Office, a division of the New Jersey Environmental Protection in Trenton, presented Roebling Lofts with a 2018 Historic Preservation Award for the rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the Roebling Building 10.

“Historic details have been retained throughout the building, and modern electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, rooftop photovoltaics, bamboo flooring, low emitting finishes, and recycled materials have been incorporated into the re-use design. It is the development team’s vision that Roebling Lofts and the following phases will be a catalyst for change and urban renewal in the Trenton Industrial Corridor,” notes NJ Historic Preservation in the award announcement.
