After losing her mother to breast cancer as a toddler, Hamilton Township Girl Scout Rebekah Renzi chose to honor her memory by creating “Made for an Angel,” a project that addresses the need to educate women about how to prevent breast cancer through monthly self-exams and yearly mammograms.

Renzi visited the Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), located at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJ) Hamilton, on September 29, 2015 and donated 50 neck buddies– hand-sewn wraps filled with barley that can be warmed up in the microwave and placed on the neck for comfort and relaxation– to patients in treatment.

Renzi is a member of Robbinsville Allentown Senior Girl Scout Troop 70732. “Made for an Angel” is part of Renzi’s quest to earn her Silver Award, the second highest honor a girl scout can receive.
